MWC Volleyball Player of the Week Utah's Whitney Webb earns second straight weekly honor.
Oct. 23, 2006 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah junior outside hitter Whitney Webb earned Mountain West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, marking her second consecutive weekly honor. Webb, a Gilbert, Ariz., native, led the first-place and 10th-ranked Utes to a 2-0 conference record last week with sweeps of San Diego State and UNLV. Against the Aztecs, Webb tallied nine kills on 17 attempts (.412 hitting percentage), along with 13 digs and seven total blocks. She followed with a season-best .650 hitting percentage vs. the Rebels, collecting 14 kills in 20 attempts with only one error. Webb also tallied nine digs, two assists and one block against UNLV. For the week, Webb averaged 3.83 kills, 3.67 digs, 1.33 blocks and 0.50 assists per game, with a .541 hitting efficiency (23-3-37).
