MWC Volleyball Player of the Week Colorado State's Ashley Fornstrom earns third career weekly honor.
Oct. 22, 2007 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State junior setter Ashley Fornstrom has earned Mountain West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the third time in her career. Fornstrom, a Cheyenne, Wyo., native, led the Rams to a 2-0 record in conference play last week with home wins over BYU and Utah. Against BYU, she had a match-high 47 assists to go along with eight digs, three total blocks and two service aces in CSU's 3-0 sweep. In the Rams' 3-1 win over Utah, Fornstrom notched her second career triple-double (52 assists, 14 digs, 10 total blocks) and the first four-game triple-double in the league this season. From her setter position Fornstrom guided Colorado State to a .281 team hitting percentage on 17.14 kills per game on the week. For the week, Fornstrom averaged 14.14 assists, 3.14 digs, 1.86 blocks and 0.57 kills per game in seven games played.
