MWC Volleyball Player of the Week Colorado State's Jaime Strauss honored.
Oct. 1, 2007 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State outside hitter Jaime Strauss has earned Mountain West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the second time in her career. Strauss, a 6-1 junior from Fort Collins, Colo., helped the first-place Rams extend their lead in the league standings with wins over San Diego State and UNLV last week. She started the week with 13 kills and 10 digs in CSU's sweep of San Diego State, marking her fourth double-double of the season. Strauss also had three blocks and two service aces vs. the Aztecs. In a four-game win over UNLV, she tallied a match-high 23 kills to go along with eight digs, five assists and three blocks. For the week, Strauss averaged 5.14 kills, 2.57 digs, 0.86 blocks, 0.86 assists and 5.93 points per game, while hitting .314 in seven games played.
