TCU Advances To Semifinals Of MWC Women's Tennis Championship Horned Frogs defeat Cowgirls, 4-0

No. 1 seed TCU ran its streak to nine straight victories vs. conference teams with a 4-0 win over No. 9 seed Wyoming in the Mountain West Conference Tennis Championship women's quarterfinals. The Frogs won singles matches at the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 5 positions after taking the doubles point to open the match. The teams waited out a rain delay from 4:12 p.m. to 5:31 p.m. PT and changed venues to Aztec Tennis Center before completing the match.
TCU's No. 1 tandem of Helena Besovic and Ava Cetnik defeated Andrea House and Karolina Rowinski of the Cowgirls in doubles play (8-3), while No. 3 Kewa Nichols and Nicole Leimbach downed Wyoming's Michelle Brown and Jamie Nelson (8-3). The TCU No. 1 and No. 3 duos are a combined 20-3 on the season. At No. 1 singles, Leimbach improved to 15-7 on the year with a victory over Rowinski (6-2, 6-0). MWC Freshman of the Year Anna Sydorska moved her record to 11-2 at No. 3 singles with a win over Andrea House (6-1, 6-1). Nichols defeated Nelson at No. 5 singles (6-0, 6-0), improving to 18-7 on the year.
TCU will face the winner of No. 4 San Diego State and No. 5 New Mexico on Friday in the semifinals at Barnes Tennis Center.
