BYU Advances To Semifinals Of MWC Women's Tennis Championships Cougars defeat Rams, 4-0, in quarterfinals

No. 2 seed BYU posted a 4-0 victory over No. 7 seed Colorado State in the Mountain West Conference Tennis Championship women's quarterfinals today at Barnes Tennis Center. The Cougars will face the winner of No. 3 UNLV and No. 6 Utah in the semifinals on Friday.
The Cougars swept the doubles competition to notch the first point of the match. BYU's No. 3 tandem of Olga Boulytcheva and Lauren Jones posted an 8-1 victory over Jasmin Singh and Jessica Jones, improving to a perfect 11-0 at the No.3 doubles spot this season. BYU sophomore Anastasia Sourkova posted a team-high 20th singles victory this season after defeating Anne Andersen (6-0, 6-0) at the No. 2 position. Sofia Holden defeated Lauren Strasburger at No. 3 singles and Jennifer Miccoli upended Jessica Jones at No. 5 singles to account for the Cougars' team scoring.
BYU has won back-to-back MWC Tournament titles and advanced to the conference semifinals for the seventh straight year.
