Utes drop 6-2 decision to Notre Dame at Kajikawa Classic Kara Foster shines for Utes despite loss

TEMPE, Ariz. - Notre Dame's Brittney Barger pitched a complete game, propelling the Fighting Irish to a 6-2 victory over Utah in the first day of the Kajikawa Classic. Barger surrendered only three hits in the contest. Notre Dame jumped to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning, which it never relinquished. For the Utes, Kara Foster connected on a pair of home runs to lead the team. Foster also recorded seven putouts in the game. Results of Friday's Texas State-Utah game were unavailable at press time.
