Stats

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Goals by Corbin Sanford and Brittney Perkowski sent the Air Force women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Central Michigan on a sunny and warm Parents Weekend Sunday at Cadet Soccer Stadium. The Falcons have now won two in a row and are 2-2-0 on the season, while the Chippewas fall to 2-2-0.

Sanford, a freshman from Lakeway, Texas, scored her first-career goal at the 14:08 mark, taking a corner kick from classmate Rachael Emory and knocking the ball into the middle of the net from seven yards out.

The Falcons then went scoreless for the next 68 minutes, until Perkowski netted her second goal of the season in the 82nd minute to put the game out of the reach. Taryn Nicolaides sent a long pass from mid field to Perkowski, who was sprinting down the right flank. The junior from Laguna Niguel, Calif., the sent the ball over CMU goalkeeper Anne Decker's head from 25 yards out on the right corner of the box.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jennifer Drew earned her first win of the season with two saves in the shutout for AFA. Decker had one save for the Chippewas.

Air Force outshot Central Michigan, 9-5 and committed eight fouls to CMU's five. Ashley Parker picked up a yellow card for the Falcons.

Air Force returns to action next weekend, taking on Utah State and Boise State at the Montana Nike Cup in Missoula, Mont. The Falcons take on Utah State on Friday, Sept. 9, at 3 p.m. and Boise State, Sunday, Sept. 11 at noon.
