BYU Remains on Top After Second Round of 2007 MWC Women's Golf Championship

St. George, Utah - BYU remains atop the leader board at the 2007 Mountain West Conference Women's Golf Championship at Entrada at Snow Canyon in St. George, Utah. The Cougars carded a second day 306 and have a two-day total of 600 (+32). TCU remains in second place firing a 306 for round two bringing them to 606 (+38) for the championship.

New Mexico stands in third after carding a second round 304, moving them to 618 (+50) for the tournament. Colorado State is currently in fourth and has a 36-hole team score of 627. UNLV is fifth (637) followed by San Diego State (638) and Wyoming (638) in a tie for sixth.

Individually, BYU's Rachel Newren played her way into sole possession of first place shooting a second round three-over-par 74 for a 36 hole total of four-over 146. New Mexico's Jodi Ewart and TCU's Valentine Derrey sit two strokes back of Newren at +6 (148). Ewart carded the lowest round of the day with an even par 71. Day one leader, Catherine Matranga of TCU, shot a seven-over-par 78 to move herself in a fourth place tie with UNLV's Natasha Krishna.
