COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU's Cosmin Cotet and Anna Sydorska have been named the Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week, respectively. This marks the third career honor for Cotet and first for Sydorska.

Cotet, a native of Iasi, Romania, went 3-1 at No. 1 singles and doubles over the weekend, including wins over two nationally-ranked opponents, to help lead the Horned Frogs in a 7-0 victory over No. 66 Minnesota and a 4-3 loss to No. 15 Oklahoma State. The senior, who is currently ranked No. 83 in singles play, cruised past No. 46 Raoul Schwark of Minnesota, winning the first eight games of the match en route to a 6-0, 6-4 victory. On Sunday, Cotet stunned No. 10 Okeksandr Nedovyesov of OSU by a score of 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(5). In doubles play, the 14thranked duo of Cotet and junior Kriegler Brink downed Minnesota pair Schwark and Sebastian Gallego by a score of 8-5 before dropping a tough 9-8(3) decision to OSU's 54th-ranked team of Nedovyesov and Nathan Byrnes.

Sydorska posted a 4-0 mark last week as TCU split a pair of outings against nationally-ranked opponents, dropping a 6-1 decision to No. 8 Baylor before staging a 4-3 upset of No. 16 William & Mary. At No. 3 singles, Sydorska recorded the only TCU win against Baylor as the junior defeated No. 22 Taylor Ormond by a score of 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. The Lviv, Ukraine, native went on to win her fourth consecutive match in Sunday's meeting with William & Mary, defeating Ragini Acharya by a 6-4, 6-3 margin. At No. 1 doubles, the 11th-ranked duo of Sydorska and junior Macall Harkins earned an 8-2 victory over Baylor's Bielikova and Filipiak before pushing their season record to 4-0 on Sunday with an 8-4 win over the 26th-ranked team of Megan Moulton-Levy and Katarina Zoricic.
