Utah Advances To Semifinals Of MWC Men's Tennis Championship Utah edges UNLV, 4-3, in quarterfinals

No. 4 seed Utah rallied from an 0-3 deficit to move past No. 5 seed UNLV, 4-3, and advance to the men's semifinals at the Mountain West Conference Tennis Championships. Utah will face No. 1 seed San Diego State on Friday at Barnes Tennis Center.
The Rebels jumped out in front after winning the doubles point along with singles points at No. 2 and No. 5, but the Utes responded with singles points at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6, setting up the finale in the No. 4 singles match between Utah's Wes Hancock and UNLV's Brett Hunter. Hunter took the first set, 6-3, and Hancock answered with a 6-3 win in the second set. Hancock managed to win the third set tie break, 7-6 (3), giving the Utes the point and the match.
Elliot Wronski improved to a team-best 15-4 in singles play this season with a win at No. 2 singles for the Rebels. Romain Massaro and Wesley Burrow recorded their 17th doubles victory of the year after helping the Rebels net the doubles point with a win at the No. 3 spot.
