Mountain West Conference Announces Men's Golfer of the Month Colorado State's Dustin Morris earns the November honor
Nov. 14, 2007 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State sophomore Dustin Morris been selected the Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for November. In Colorado State's only tournament of the month, Morris, a Crosby, Texas, native, led the Rams to a record-breaking finish to close the fall season, and a second consecutive tournament title at the Agua-Caliente Air Force Invitational, held Nov. 10-11, at the Indian Canyons Golf Resort in Palm Springs, Calif. Morris captured his first career title on the 6,582-yard par 72 course, carding rounds of 65-66-63 to finish with a 22-under par 194, 12 strokes better than his previous best set at the 2007 NCAA Regional. He competed against 56 other golfers to take the crown, posting a scoring average of 64.67. His final round score leads the MWC as the lowest round this season, is a career-best by three strokes and ties the Colorado State program record set by Zen Brown at the 2006 Cougar Classic. With Morris leading the way, the Rams eclipsed their previous team single-round record in each of the three rounds. The Rams' overall score of 787 (-77) surpassed their 54-hole record by 42 strokes. This marks Morris' first career golfer of the month award.
