UNLV's Kinsinger Named MWC Golfer of the Month for April
April 21, 2008 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV senior Matt Kinsinger has been selected the Mountain West Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for April. In UNLV's only tournament of the month, Kinsinger led the Rebels to a third-place finish among a field of 15 teams, including 11 ranked in the latest GolfStat Standings, at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate on April 7-8. Kinsinger carded a 1-over 214 (70-72-72) on the par-71, 7,412-yard University of Texas Golf Course. He was the highest MWC finisher (BYU, UNM and TCU also competed in the tournament), placing third overall in the field of 78 golfers. The third-place finish was his best of the year and second top-five finish of the season. Kinsinger currently ranks third in the MWC with a 72.11 stroke average.
This marks Kinsinger's first career golfer of the month award.
