UNLV Leads After First Round of Mountain West Conference Men's Golf Championship

April 24, 2008

TUCSON, Ariz. - No. 15 UNLV carded a 3-under-par 281, to take the first round lead at the 2008 Mountain West Conference Men's Golf Championship at Omni Tucson National Golf Course. The Rebels hold a two-shot lead over second place TCU which turned in a 1-under 283. Defending champion BYU is currently in third after posting a 2-over 286, followed by Utah and Colorado State in a tie for fourth with identical scores of 4-over-par 288.

San Diego State senior Aaron Goldberg is the first-round individual leader. Goldberg shot a 4-under 67 on the par 71, 7,136-yard Catalina Course and currently holds a two stroke lead over UNLV's Brett Kanda and Seung-su Han.

The second round of the 2008 MWC Men's Golf Championship will begin at 7 a.m. (PT) Friday morning, followed by the final 18-holes on Saturday starting at 7 a.m. The public is invited to come out and watch some of the best teams in collegiate golf.
