Frogs and Corpening lead field at National Invitational Tournament The Purple and White possess a nine-stroke advantage over New Mexico and UNLV heading into the final day of action.

The TCU men's golf program continued it strong play at the National Invitational Tournament on Tuesday (Mar. 24) as the Horned Frogs possess a nine-stroke advantage over the field after two rounds of competition at the Omni Tucson National Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz. The Purple and White came into action on Tuesday morning with an 11-stroke advantage over Mountain West Conference-foes New Mexico and UNLV en route to securing the top spot at the National Invitational Tournament. The Frogs - who entered the tournament ranked 62nd in the nation - collected a 36-hole total of 566 (275-291) after combining for a 291 on the second day of action. Franklin Corpening (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) currently possesses the lead at the National Invitational Tournament as the TCU senior finished his second day of action with a four-under-par 68. In two rounds of action - Corpening has collected a total score of seven-under-par 137 (69-68) and is tied with Nicolas Geyger of Tulsa for the tournament lead. James Sacheck (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville H.S.) had a strong second round of action as the TCU junior shot a one-under-par 71 en route to finishing with a two-day total of three-under-par 141 (70-71) - which places him tied for sixth overall. After leading the field after the first day of action, Jordan Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington H.S.) shot a three-over-par 75 on Tuesday to give the TCU sophomore a tournament total of 143 (68-75) en route to finishing the day tied for 13th overall.
Robby Ormand (Austin, Texas/James Bowie H.S.) finished his second round of action tied for 22nd overall with a 36-hole total of 146 (68-78) - including a 68 on the first day of competition. Travis Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas/Paschal H.S.) finished with a five-over-par score of 77 en route to securing a two-day tally of 149 (72-77) - which places him tied for 44th overall.
The Frogs possess a nine-stroke advantage over the field after a two-day total of 566 while New Mexico (575), UNLV (576), Kent State (578) and Arizona State (583) round out the top-five of action. UNLV, Kent State and Arizona State all came into the tournament ranked in the top-45 in the country with the Runnin' Rebels possessing the highest listing at 15th in the nation.
