UNLV Struggles In Second-Half Against Oregon State, Falls 69-63

Louis Amundson had 15 points and 17 rebounds for the Rebels.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Marcel Jones had 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Oregon State to a 69-63 win Saturday against UNLV at Gill Coliseum.

The Beavers overcame a 22-point first-half deficit and forced the Runnin' Rebels into a 4-for-31 shooting performance in the second half.

Oregon State used an 18-1 run in the second half to get within four at 47-43, and an 11-0 stretch later helped the Beavers tie the game at 55.

UNLV's second-half struggles mirrored those of Oregon State's in the first half, when the Beavers made just 6 of 25 shots and trailed 44-25 at halftime.

Nick DeWitz added 14 points, five rebounds and four blocked shots for Oregon State (2-2). Louis Amundson had 15 points and 17 rebounds for UNLV (2-3).
