Frogs Fall to Texas Tech, 81-54

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Jarrius Jackson scored 23 points to lead Texas Tech to an 81-54 win over TCU on Wednesday night.

Terry Martin and Jon Plefka each scored 14 points for Tech (5-2). Martin Zeno had 12.

TCU (1-4) trailed by as many as 27 points, shooting 36 percent from the field and 32 percent from beyond the 3-point line, hitting just nine of 28.

Tech hit 17-of-35 from behind the arc with Jackson scoring on five of his six 3-pointers.

Nile Murry led all TCU scorers with 19 points and four assists while Clarence Masters scored 10 points.

Tech led TCU in rebounds, 46-24, holding the Horned Frogs to six offensive rebounds while Tech grabbed 32 defensive rebounds.

The win gave Tech coach Bob Knight his 859th win in his 40-year career, moving him 20 wins closer to tying Dean Smith for all-time career wins in NCAA history.

Jackson surpassed 1,000 career points for the Red Raiders.
