2007 All-Mountain West Conference Outdoor Track and Field Teams Announced

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference announced its 2007 Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field all-conference teams today. On the men's side, BYU led the way with 17 honorees, followed by TCU (13), Air Force (12), New Mexico (nine), Colorado State (eight) and Wyoming (six). BYU topped the women's list with 19 all-conference selections, followed by TCU (16), San Diego State (14) Colorado State (11) and New Mexico (four). Air Force had three honorees while Utah and Wyoming had two selections each, while UNLV rounded out the women's list with one all-conference selection.
TCU's Delwayne Delaney was honored as the men's High Point Award winner (22.50 points), while BYU's Niklas Arrhenius earned the Outstanding Performance Award after breaking the MWC Championship record in the discus throw with a mark of 203'-2.00" (61.92m), TCU's Dell Guy was awarded the Freshman of the Year award and Cougars' head coach Mark Robison was named men's Coach of the Year. For the women, Colorado State's Emily Pearson earned the High Point Award (24.50 points) and UNLV's Charlotte Browning was named Freshman of the Year, while BYU's Whitney McDonald garnered the Outstanding Performance Award accolades with her MWC meet record time of 16:00.16 in the 5,000-meter run. BYU's Craig Poole was named women's Coach of the Year.
Below is a list of the men's and women's All-MWC selections with events participated in at the 2007 Mountain West Conference Championships in Provo, Utah. The BYU men captured their eighth consecutive men's championship, while the Cougar women earned their seventh championship in eight years.
