Please be advised that effective immediately that evaluation at high school football all-star games is precluded per proposal 2007-42.
2007-42 RECRUITING -- CONTACTS AND EVALUATIONS -- FOOTBALL EVALUATIONS -- SCHOLASTIC ACTIVITIES
Status: Adopted, 60-Day Override Period Process Diagram
Intent: In football, to specify that all evaluations shall be limited to regularly scheduled high school, preparatory school and two-year college contests, practices and regular scholastic activities involving prospective student-athletes enrolled at the institution at which the regular scholastic activities occur.

- Override Summary at NCAA Convention
Text Messaging 2006-40 - In an overwhelming vote of 240 to 65, the text messaging ban was upheld. However, please note that 2007-47 has entered the 60-day override period and is effective immediate, which permits institutions to text message prospects that have signed a valid national letter of intent with the institution.
Number of Dates of Competition - Golf - 2006-87 -
Proposal 2006-87, which permitted coaches to choose between nine three-day events or a maximum 24 days of competition, has been eliminated. Only one option will be available beginning next fall - 24 playing days.
At NCAA Convention in Nashville, Tenn., it was voted 68% to override the proposal (only 60% was needed) and return college golf - starting next fall - to 24 days of competition.
Baseball - 2007-9
The override for this proposal was defeated. The following proposal is still valid:
2007-9 FINANCIAL AID AND PLAYING AND PRACTICE SEASONS -- MAXIMUM INSTITUTIONAL GRANT-IN-AID LIMITATIONS BY SPORT -- SQUAD SIZE LIMITATION -- BASEBALL (As Amended)
Status: Adopted - Final Process Diagram
Intent: To specify that: (a) there shall be an annual limit of 11.7 on the value of financial aid awards (equivalencies) to counters and an annual limit of 27 (30 in 2008-09) on the total number of counters in baseball at each institution; (b) an institution shall provide each counter athletically related and other countable financial aid that is equal to or greater than 25 percent of an equivalency; and (c) an institution shall declare, by the day prior to its first scheduled contest in the championship segment of the playing and practice season, a squad of a maximum of 35 student-athletes who shall be eligible to participate in countable athletically related activities during the remainder of the championship segment.
