Due to inclement weather the start of the Softball Championship has been postponed to Friday. The tournament will now be single elimination.

Colorado State will host the 2004 Mountain West Conference Softball Championship May 13-15 at Ram Field in Fort Collins, Colorado. This will mark the first time in conference history that the event will be held at Ram Field. The stadium, which opened in 1995, is located on the west side of the Colorado State campus and has a seating capacity of 500.

The winner of the Mountain West Conference Tournament receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
